Centaurea cyanus is our native cornflower that once grew as a weed in cornfields throughout the UK. Our wild cornflower, with its beatiful bright blue petals is now considered to be endangered in its native habitat due to the widespread use of industrial agricultural techniques. These beautiful flowers have white spiky petals and a stiff stem with an occasional leaf. Best used for decoration, only the petals are edible.
