Thyme is a lovely fragrant herb with tiny leaves, stiff stems and pale lilac flowers which grow in clusters from the upper tips. It has a graceful yet compact habit and is one of the most popular herbs in the UK. These edible Thyme flowers with stems have dusky grey-green leaves, occasional side shoots and are around 14cm - 17cm long. Strong enough to stand up when inserted at the base, they are good for adding height to large cakes.
