Forsythia x intermedia is one of the first shrubs to bloom in the spring. The bright yellow flowers burst from the bare bark before the appearance of any leaves creating a spectacular show of colour. Originally from east Asia it is now a popular hardy garden plant. The fresh flowers have traditionally been used to brighten a salad or made into a deliciously fragrant syrup. These pressed edible Forsythia flowers have a golden yellow colour with a pretty shine to the translucent petals.
